"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", "A little birdie told me", "The early bird gets the worm", "A bird's eye view", "As a crow flies", "To kill two birds with one stone" and "Birds of a feather flock together". These are all idioms that we use to express ourselves in conversations.
In this Series, I plan to offer patterns for designs that pay tribute to our feathered friends. Birds are living creatures that bring us joy with their colors, habits, songs and appearances. We love to display them in our home decor, and we care for them with feeders that we hang outside of our windows, giving us a front-row seat for hours of entertainment.
The designs you will find here will be done in wool applique and punch needle arts. I hope you'll find one or two that you can use to "feather your own nest".
